Yarn Plus at Mary Maxim

Multi-tasking knitters love this unique LYS for so many reasons. As the mid-town Toronto retail location of the popular catalog company, Mary Maxim stocks all the crafty supplies we've come to expect. Jewellery makers can find beads and findings galore and needle artists can choose from a wide variety of cross stitch and embroidery supplies. There's plastic canvas, jigsaw puzzles, latch hooking and of course, all those store brand sweater kits and yarns.

The Toronto location opened in the Yonge Eglinton Centre in 2006 and since then has been continuously adapting to suit the modern urban knitter.  Managers Kate and Lynn and the rest of the staff are skilled knitters and crocheters who can answer your technique questions. The yarn choice is great. Alongside old favourites, Patons and Bernat, they are carrying Rowan, Debbie Bliss and Cascade Heritage regularly. A new shipment of Noro has recently arrived. Don't forget to head to the back of the store for amazing deals in the clearance section. There really is something for every budget here. Check out the store's Ravelry group for more info specific to this location.

Mary Maxim is our only Knitalong stop in a traditional mall setting. That means more air conditioned space in which to roam and many lunch choices in the centre's food court. Two teams will lunch at this stop so if you choose one of these teams, you'll get added knitterly mingling!

Closest TTC: Eglinton Station feeds directly into the shopping centre.

Update: Mary Maxim closed in April 2014.
